The train is pulling into the station at the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village. The model train that is. Join us as we present the second Pioneer Florida Museum Model Train Show. This exciting collection of model trains layouts, railroad memorabilia and hobby shop vendors is sure to delight all train enthusiasts. Located in the Mabel Jordan Barn, this 12,000 square foot showroom will house HO scale and Lionel model train layouts as well as model train and hobby shop vendors from around the state. In addition, the museums own historic Trilby Depot will be open and on display with a working telegraph and running model railroad. The museums 1913 Porter 10 wheeler, once owned and used by the Cummer Cypress Company will also be open and on display.
Not into model trains but want to come along with someone who is? No problem, the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village is filled with exhibits and artifacts from the pioneer era that are sure to spark the interest of all guests. The museums historic buildings include the Lacoochee one-room school house, the Overstreet 1860s farm house, the 1950s CC Smith General store and the 1910 Blanton Packing House. The main building is filled with examples of pioneer life and beyond with a quilt room, back porch and the renowned First Ladies of Florida Doll Collection, sponsored by the Tampa Doll Club. The Pioneer Florida Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Floridas pioneer heritage. The museum is located one mile north of downtown Dade City, off of US 301 at 15602 Pioneer Museum Road.
